When you’re a mom, life can run you ragged if you let it. If you’re like every mompreneur I know, you’re probably overfunctioning. Figuring out what your capacity is means establishing how much room is in your life to make time for your business, your family, and your overall well being. Join me as I dig deeper to identify four specific areas of capacity in order to determine what our threshold is for each.
Building community with your audience can be an invaluable tool as you build your business. It provides a hands-on way for you to connect with your ideal client and learn from them as you work to serve them well.
Within a connected community, you can learn to identify the problems and frustrations of your customers, and if you’re a really good listener, sell them the products and services your offer in order to help them overcome those challenges.
There’s a little bit of work to consistently grow and support a thriving group filled with the people you desire to work with, but if community building aligns with you and your business, it will be so worth it.
One of the biggest errors we make when entering into entrepreneurship is failure to accurately calculate the cost of running and supporting our business. One of the things I often say is, “If they’ve never tried to do this with children playing LEGOS under their desk, then we’re not on the same playing field.”
Moms building a business with kiddos still living in the home is not a small feat. We gotta respect the season ladies. So figuring out how to flow and align ourselves with the our life and home rhythms is KEY. It’s vital in order to make this thing work.
The journey we travel to growing a successful business is one that requires certain types of “fuel” in order to stay the course.
We’re only human, right?
As humans, it is unrealistic to think that we can thrive long-term without a few key fueling elements of self-care, and one of them is having a consistent flow of affirming validation along the way.
And as mompreneurs, falling a bit short of our revenue goals is often a part of our new business experience, so we must open our minds to identifying all of the other validating truths in our lives that provide irrefutable evidence of our progress as well as the impact our work is having on the people we serve.Read More

I went to a Korean Spa.
If you don’t know anything about Korean Spas, let me educate you on one of the biggest features it offers.
Gender-specific nude areas.
There is a section of the spa that you must be nude in order to even get inside.
This is the area where they offer their full-body massages, body scrubs, saunas, soaking tubs, and basically all the good stuff people go to spas for.
So, let me take you on my journey at the Korean spa, and share with you how my experience there completely and forever changed my business.Read More
If you’re a mom that works from home while your children are present, then you are extremely familiar with the juggling act that accompanies any effort to get your tasks done in a reasonable amount of time.
As much as we try to pull our husbands in to help direct kid traffic (“Honey, PLEASE keep the kids out of my office for just one hour… I’m begging you!”), our crafty little cubs know how to stealthily bypass daddy radar with the skills of an escape room artist - they still find their way to us no matter what.
In this FB LIVE conversation, I connect with Vanessa Wright of @wrightathomeschool to talk about some of our struggles and successes creating work boundaries with our children.Read More
